we have started our ideas to put onto a storyboard,as a backboard will use a box. Our ideas are still flexible,can be changed.

Animation Techniques

Morning,

just a couple words about animation techniques.

Drawn animation: the oldest and historically the most popular form of animation(for example, Popeye the Sailor and Betty Boop cartoons)often called traditional animation. 

Cut-out animation:using flat characters, props and backgrounds cut from materials such as paper, card, stiff fabric or even photographs. For example Charlie and Lola,or South Park.

Model animation or stop motion animation:also known as stop-action or frame-by-frame) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence. Clay figures are often used in stop motion for their ease of repositioning. Stop motion animation using clay is described as clay animation or clay-mation. For example Vallace and Gromit -clay animation,Robot Chicken-stop motion animation.

Computer animation or computer generated imagery(CGI): is the art of creating moving images with the use of computersan image is displayed on the computer screenand repeatedly replaced by a new image that is similar to the previous image, but advanced slightly in the time domain (usually at a rate of 24 or 30 frames/second). This technique is identical to how the illusion of movement is achieved withtelevision and motion pictures. For example Toy Story,Ice Age.

ROTOSCOPING:One classic use of traditional rotoscoping was in the original three Star Wars films, where it was used to create the glowing lightsaber effect, by creating a matte based on sticks held by the actors. To achieve this, editors traced a line over each frame with the prop, then enlarged each line and added the glow.

Hi,today I compared two websites,such as msn.co.uk and bbc.co.uk.

My second picture is original from bbc site,and the first picture is customised by myself,moved up the weather .

The bbc is more like for public serve ,and the msn is more like about to entertain.

We came back from the October Holiday,and got a chance to finish our first project.We were doing an EPK for the Rent Musical,the event will hold in Fife by YMTS-the group of young artists between 12-18.
